a sticky situation

this morning in the kitchen, there was a free treat! some sort of pie-crusted, danish-topped treat. two co-workers were in the kitchen discussing it with lots of "yums" and such.

a third co-worker popped his head in the kitchen and said it sounded like an X-rated film in there.

what a crazy place.

today, i switched my default printer to the front one instead of the back to mix it up a little.

also, there was an insurance questionnaire that one of our customers filled out. the question was PPO or HMO? they answered "idk."

word of the day: cacophonous /kək'ɒfənəs/
If you describe a mixture of sounds as cacophonous, you mean that they are loud and unpleasant.

currently reading: The Kite Runner

the finer things club met last night. we discussed The Lovely Bones. interesting conversations about death, heaven, and being pregnant...

i was that person in the kitchen. haha =)
secondly, I don't think you are going to like the Kite Runner. I didn't...
thirdly... I talked to the girl who put IDK, and I thought it was funny. But apparently you guys knew about it already...

  3. oh! also, yesterday was the day that i found out that the name of our computer system at work is not the name that everybody calls it. apparently, it hasn't had that name for 15 years. i guess people are really against change.

i didn't quite love the lovely bones. i think it had some redeeming qualities, but it was far too postmodern for my tastes. it took me most of the book to get over my deep theological indoctrinations and just read a fiction novel. then, there were parts (such as most of the last chapter) that weren't necessary and just sounded like a soapbox that i didn't care to listen to. the only thing i really liked about it was the relationships. good thing that was the bulk of the book. :)
